Guaranteed original. In DUG, RELIC condition. The front of this badge has been coated in some preserver to prevent further deterioration (NOT by us).
This was part of a small group of cap badges and other miscellaneous relics that came to us as a framed set of Somme battlefield, field walking finds. They had all been found by a battlefield tourist in the 1980s and 1990s, coated in a protective coating to the front and then framed. This is a nice bit of authentic WW1 history. It would look excellent displayed amongst a collection of non-dug badges as a curiosity piece.
