Original, but faded pair of Royal Navy Air Service RNAS Airfield and Kite Balloon Station in Shotley, Suffolk. Used between 1914-1918 for Kite Balloons and Maratime Patrols. The photos depict the large camouflaged air balloon hangers and the airmen's huts and quarters. Rare surving photos of a WW1 RNAS airfield.
